Man dies after scooter crashes into parked truck in Gisborne

A man has died after the moped scooter he was riding crashed into the rear of a parked truck in Gisborne overnight.

Emergency services were called to the incident which occurred just after 10pm on Anzac Street.

The man was taken to Gisborne Hospital with critical injuries but died shortly after.

Police are looking into the circumstances of the crash.
