A man who crashed into a tree on on State Highway 6 at Motupiko, near Wakefield, yesterday has died.
The 40-year-old was critically injured in the crash and flown to Wellington Hospital.
Police said in a statement today the man died overnight.
Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash, which happened at about 2.30pm yesterday, are ongoing, police said.
