Man critically injured after serious assault in Auckland suburb

A man critically injured after an assault in an Auckland suburb is now in a serious but stable condition.

Emergency services were called to Gifford Ave in Mount Roskill shortly after 3am today, police said in a statement.

The 24-year-old man was transferred to Auckland Hospital.

Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Brand said police are seeking information about the incident, and asked anyone with information to contact police on 105, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
