Man charged over bomb threat yesterday that caused Cook Strait ferry evacuations

A 33-year-old man has been charged over the bomb threat on a Cook Strait ferry yesterday.

A 33-year-old man has been charged over the bomb threat to the Cook Strait ferry services yesterday in Picton.

He will appear in the Blenheim District Court today charged with threatening to harm people/property.

The threat meant a Cook Strait ferry sailing from Picton was delayed yesterday while the threat was investigated by police.

Both the Interislander and Bluebridge ferries berthed in Picton were searched.
