Man arrested after critically injured man, 68, dies of his injuries north of Timaru

A man has been arrested after an elderly man died of his injuries following an incident north of Timaru on Friday.

The man, 68, died in Christchurch Hospital yesterday evening, Canterbury CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Damon Wells said today in a statement.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested and will be appearing in Timaru District Court tomorrow.

Charges are yet to be confirmed.

No other people are being sought in relation to the incident.
