Man accused of killing Grace Millane pleads not guilty

The man accused of killing English tourist Grace Millane and leaving her body in the bush west of Auckland has denied killing her.

He entered a plea of not guilty at Auckland High Court to the charge of murder was remanded in custody this morning.

A trial date has been set for November 4.

Ms Millane, 22, arrived in New Zealand in November last year and went missing on December 2 - her body was found a week later.

The accused is a 27-year-old man, but no further details can be revealed about him due to court suppressions in place.

He last appeared at Auckland District Court on December 10, where Judge Evangelos Thomas refused to give him name suppression.

However, the man's lawyer, Ian Brookie, signalled that an appeal would be filed, which gave the man interim name suppression.
