Central New Zealand has been shaken by a 4.5 magnitude earthquake this afternoon.
The shake was centred 30km east of the Marlborough town of Seddon at a depth of 5km, according to GeoNet, who describe the earthquake as "light".
The quake struck at 4.10pm.
More than 2500 people indicated they'd felt the quake on the GeoNet site.
Hundreds of people felt it in the Marlborough and Wellington areas and it was felt as far south as Christchurch and as far north as New Plymouth.
