Lockdown day one: Haunting images of an empty New Zealand

The capital stood still this morning as locals adjust to staying at home.

This morning New Zealanders woke up to a new way of life.

The city of sails was silent on the first morning of the shutdown.

As the clock ticked over from 11:59pm last night, New Zealand came to a stand still as businesses and most public services closed for four weeks.

With only essential services permitted to continue working, the streets of New Zealand have become empty.

A strange sight from the normal hustle and bustle of Kiwi life.
