Last day for Kiwis travelling within NZ to get home amid coronavirus lockdown

March 27, 2020

From March 28 only essential workers will be allowed to travel long distances.

Today is the last day of domestic travel for those trying to make their way home amid the coronavirus pandemic lockdown.

From tomorrow only essential workers will be allowed to travel long distances.

The deadline for domestic travel was extended after ferries and planes were inundated with people trying to get home before the lockdown kicked in on Thursday.

Travel is only allowed to access essential services like supermarkets, health services and petrol stations.
