Large crane to give fire investigators first up-close look of SkyCity convention centre following fire

Several separate investigations will take place into what exactly happened on October 22 and in the following days.

Police and fire investigators are well on their way to getting an up-close look at what's left of Auckland's International Convention Centre.

A large crane that was slowly and carefully pieced together yesterday is now fully constructed.

This morning, it was able to put several people into the air on a large platform, including some police investigators.

Fire crews spent another night at the scene to keep watch over hotspots that were still a danger.
