Knife held to 12-year-old's throat during Masterton bike theft

A 12-year-old boy had a knife held to his throat during a robbery in Masterton on Tuesday, police say.

The boy was confronted by three other boys aged 11-14 in an alleyway off High Street.

One of the thieves involved held a knife to the 12-year-old's throat and they then took his bike.

The boy called police right after the robbery, and the boy who held the knife was later brought to the police station by family members - he admitted the robbery.

The boy has been referred to Youth Aid and the victim's bike is still missing.
