Kiwimeter: First results are in as survey on national identity climbs to 80,000

More than 30,000 Kiwis have completed our Kiwimeter survey, and it has revealed some interesting facts.

A ONE News online poll on our national identity has been completed by 81,344 people and growing and tonight the first results are in.

Kiwimeter is aimed at encouraging debate about our national identity as New Zealanders.

Tonight we look at how the rest of the country differs from each other on what being a New Zealander means and there are some surprises.

The online tool canvasses views on a range of issues including the environment, religion, gender, immigration, poverty and sport and based on your responses places you in one of six distinct groups.

The online tool is the biggest survey on national identity undertaken in New Zealand.

Tens of thousands have shared their results on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

You can fill out the survey here.
