As the Twittersphere speculated where in the world Taylor Swift was, a simple interaction with a six-month-old provided all the answers.

The star was noticeably absent from the American Music Awards yesterday - and that's because she was on a flight from Los Angeles to New Zealand.

Kiwi Actor Ido Drent, who played Daniel Potts on Kiwi soap-drama Shortland Street, was changing his son's nappy on-board flight NZ3 when he claimed he stumbled across the "Bad Blood" popstar.

"Yeah, had a good chat to her on the plane outside the lavatory," he said.

The popstar reportedly called Drent's son Baz the "most beautiful baby in the world".

Swift is in New Zealand to shoot a music video, Universal Music confirmed today.

A spokesperson said Swift would head to Australia for the next leg of her world tour, and would not be undertaking any promotional activity with her Kiwi friend, Lorde.

A member of the public yesterday snapped a couple of photos at Auckland's Bethells Beach when he stumbled across the video shoot.
