Jewel thief wanted by police after allegedly running out of Auckland store with $36,000 diamond ring

A man is wanted by police for allegedly running out the doors of an Auckland jewelry story with a $36,000 diamond ring he was handed to inspect.

The man was looking at a selection of rings in a jewelry store in Auckland's CBD at approximately at 11.50am on December 13.

After being given a diamond solitaire ring valued at over $36,000 to look at, the man allegedly ran from the store into Elliott St and turned right to run up Wellesley St in Auckland's central city.

Police would to speak to anyone who can identify the man in the above photo.
