Jetboat flips on Canterbury's Rakaia River, injuring three people dumped into the water

A jetboat on Canterbury's Rakaia River has flipped over, sending three occupants into the river this afternoon.

The incident happened at 3.20pm, and police have confirmed three people were injured after being dumped into the water.

The nature of their injuries isn't clear. They're being transported by ambulance to hospital.
