Jessica Mutch is the 1 NEWS Political Editor.

She has previously been a 1 NEWS reporter in Auckland and Europe Correspondent based in London.
Prior to that role, Jessica was TVNZ's Deputy Political Editor and was in the Press Gallery from 2006-2013.
She continues to be co-presenter of Q+A.
She covered several New Zealand elections and by-elections as well as the Australian 2007 election and the US Primary presidential battle in 2012.
Jessica believes politics influences the lives of all New Zealanders. She enjoys the theatre of politics and also sees her role as confronting the power players, helping to open up for debate the policies that have an impact on how we all live.
Jessica joined TVNZ in 2008 after working at Sky News where she covered politics and general news.
In her time at TVNZ she has reported on several Prime Ministerial overseas trips including India, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Samoa and The Cook Islands.
Jessica is a Bachelor of Communications graduate of AUT University (majoring in journalism) and also completed a post-graduate Diploma in Public Relations.
She also has a speech and drama diploma from Trinity College, London.
