Jami-Lee Ross remains on leave, gives National his proxy vote

October 30, 2018
Jami-Lee Ross took leave from Parliament earlier this month for mental health reasons.

MP Jami-Lee Ross will remain on leave, he tweeted today, giving his vote in Parliament to National.

"I appreciate all the recent messages of support," he wrote.

"I was well looked after by the fantastic people at Middlemore, and grateful for their care.

"On medical advice I remain on leave, but have given National my proxy vote to ensure Botany continues to be represented in Parliament."

Mr Ross went into care on October 21.

Mr Ross had previously said he would resign from Parliament and run in a by-election, but decided to stay on as an independent MP.
