The injured, including children, arrive at Christchurch Hospital following mass shootings

Multiple people have been arriving at Christchurch Hospital following a mass shootings at two Christchurch mosques today.

Police have confirmed there are fatalities in both shootings and one man is in custody.

More than a dozen people could be seen being wheeled into hospital as multiple ambulances dropped off the injured. Among them one child.

Many of the injured appear to be men.

It’s not known yet how many people were inside the mosque at the time of the shooting or how many injured have been taken into hospital.

    It's believed at least one gunman opened fire at the Masjid Al Noor mosque on Deans Ave around 1:40pm.

    Witnesses heard multiple gunshots, some saying up to 100 and there are multiple casualties.

    Much of Christchurch is on lockdown as police respond to an 'active shooter' situation.
