BMX Olympic contender Sarah Walker is still adamant she'll compete in the 2016 Rio games in August, despite the New Zealand Olympic Committee's latest advisory about the Zika virus.
Walker was warned by the committee yesterday that athletes who are pregnant or planning to get pregnant in the near future should not travel to Rio.
The first cases of the Zika virus in New Zealand for 2016 were revealed today with nine cases confirmed by the Ministry of Health.
"I don't think there'll be many athletes competing pregnant," the London silver medallist Walker told One News.
"But yes I suppose those thinking of the future...but no it won't affect my plans. I'm still going."
