Hundreds call for increased funding to tertiary mental health services

About 300 people gathered outside Parliament today to rally for increased funding to tertiary mental health services. 

About 300 people turned out to ask for increased funding for tertiary mental health services.

The protest, organised by Victoria University of Wellington Students' Association, were calling for action on mental health issues in the student community. 

Protesters performed a passionate haka during the rally. 

Around 30 Gateway Trust employees took strike action for one hour today.

National's health spokesperson Michael Woodhouse attended the rally, along with Labour's Paul Eagle and Wellington City Mayor Justin Lester.
