December 13, 2017

The video has had nearly 2 million views online already.

New Zealand Police's "world's most entertaining recruitment video" is living up to its name according to the Government, with over six million people viewing the video and it reaching over 14 million.

Minister of Police Stuart Nash proudly announced some of the statistics around the video during question time in Parliament today.

"The world's most entertaining recruitment video is truly living up to its name. I'm advised that the video has been viewed more than six million times and has reached an estimated 14.5 million people," he said.

Mr Nash also read out some figures on application numbers since the video was released.

"There has been a huge increase in applications, particularly diverse applications, as of this morning there were 648 new applications made since the video was launched with interest from over 2000 people who are seriously considering applying."

The video, which cost around $350,000 to produce, was posted on the NZ Police Recruitment Facebook page in late November.

The fast-paced and humorous three-minute video features police officers in a variety of different roles in the hopes of attracting more diverse faces.
