Horse who had rough start to life bringing cheer to residents of a Motueka retirement home

December 17, 2018

The 10-year-old part Clydesdale will soothe your soul as he does to elderly he visits.

A horse with an "old soul" is bringing joy to residents of a retirement home in Motueka.

He's named Tyson after a certain boxer of dubious repute, which is kind of appropriate after a rough and tumble start in life.

The Clydesdale was mistreated and developed trust issues but life has improved for the working horse who now enjoys a visit to the residents of The Wood Rest Home, providing some much appreciated animal therapy.

He also lends a hand to taking care of the lawns.
