The 58-year-old grandmother, who was previously referred to by police as Roma Midwood, lived alone and died in a fire at her home in Little Street, Tirau, between 3am and 3.30am on Monday, May 1.

Police believe the fire was deliberately lit.

Detective Senior Sergeant Matt Cranshaw, Area Manager Investigations, Taupo, said Ms Joseph's death has devastated her family.

"We urge people to come forward, do the right thing for Roma's family and tell us what they know," Mr Cranshaw said.

The case will feature on Police Ten 7 tomorrow night at the later time of 9pm on TVNZ 2.

The programme will also be on Plus 1, with the Crime of the Week component posted on the Police Ten 7 Facebook page once the programme has been broadcast.
