Highest spending Government minister revealed as expenses released

How much Government ministers spend on the job has been revealed today with the release of Ministerial expenses. 

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern spent $27,489 on internal costs for April 1 to June 30, which includes accommodation, domestic air travel and land travel. The Prime Minister spent $56,552 in international travel in that time. 

The PM has to take an extra flight to the Pacific Islands Forum as baby Neve is unable to travel with her.

The highest internal spender was deputy Labour leader and Corrections and Tourism Minister MP Kelvin Davis, who spent $46,737 on internal costs. 

Transport and Housing Minister Phil Twyford spent $44,653 on internal costs, and Regional Economic Minister Shane Jones spent $43,493.

Ministerial credit card expenses  have also been released.

It comes after the release date was delayed due to an Internal Affairs "process oversight". 

The Minister responsible for Ministerial Services Chris Hipkins said he was frustrated at the delay and he expected better.
