A Head Hunters gang associate has been arrested after a serious assault in a North Auckland suburb left a man fighting for life.

The incident took place in Manuka Rd, Glenfield, on Saturday February 13, and left the victim on life support at Auckland Hospital.

A 24-year-old police say is linked to the Head Hunters has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He will appear in North Shore District Court today.
