Hawke's Bay teen breaks world record after 36 hours on playground swing

A Hawke's Bay teenager has beaten the world record for longest time spent continuously swinging.

Patrick Cooper, 17, successfully completed his record attempt around 10.30pm yesterday after spending 36 hours on a swing at Taradale Park in Napier.

Pending official confirmation, he's beaten the former record by four hours.

The teenager also raised more than $2000 for Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland.
