Hanmer Springs has announced a $4.3 million dollar development which will include five new thermal pools and a hydro slide.
The hydro slide is 13.5 metres high and will add to the pool’s current tower. It works by doubling up in a tube, riding up a near vertical wall before heading to the finish line.
Hanmer Springs is yet to name the new attraction.
Construction gets underway in April and is hoped to be complete by the end of 2019.
Resource consent has been approved by the Hurunui District Council, however the Springs is looking for public feedback on the project.
