How a group of South Auckland boys transformed an Auckland school

When Mt Eden Normal School wanted a mural for their back boundary, a group of young artists from South Auckland stepped in to help.

They came in as commissioned artists and the lads were keen to get started.

Until they saw the size of the wall.

One said he was “amazed” at how big it was.

“Honestly, I wanted to drop out,” said one.

But they worked away on the biggest artwork they’ve ever done.

It was their first ever trip outside of their hometown in South Auckland.

And they say they are proud to have left a legacy.
