The Greens have relaunched their election campaign minus former co-leader Metiria Turei who was embroiled in her benefit fraud confession scandal.
"We have a new slogan. 'Love New Zealand'. Some of you will remember we used it in 2014. But we believe in recycling," co-leader James Shaw said as he released a television commercial and emphasised policy issues in a speech at a function in Auckland this afternoon.
The advert features kids running on a beach with green kites and talks about a thriving green economy.
"For the next six weeks we will be reminding voters of the core values and priorities of the Green Party and of the green heart we bring to government.
"The Green Party is the only party that has drawn a line in the sand on the priority issues of ending poverty, taking action on climate change and cleaning up our rivers," he said.
Mr Shaw, who was joined at the relaunch by fellow MPs and list candidates, also used the relaunch to apologise to supporters over recent events.
"I want to apologise to all those people who feel we’ve let them down."
A new caucus leadership team was announced which gave Marama Davidson the job of speaking about poverty, an area Ms Turei had previously taken a strong interest in.
