The Green Party are undergoing a "big transition" as it adjusts to the compromises of being in Government, says co-party leader James Shaw.
"It's a change, but we're very clear on who we are. It's who we always have been," co-leader Marama Davidson said, after the Green Party conference over the weekend.
Ms Davidson said the members were feeling "invigorated and encouraged".
When asked about the 'dead rats' of policy compromise by TVNZ1's Q+A host Corin Dann , Mr Shaw said it was a "big transition" going into Government, and "you're not going to please all of the people all of the time".
He said the Green Party were "really happy with the wins we're getting".
"This isn't some sort of contest where you're calculating how many dollars each party gets to spend", in comparison to NZ First's policy wins.
When asked by Dann if Green policies were being made to look like Labour Party policies, Ms Davidson said issues such as ending off shore oil and gas exploration permits would only be achieved through Green Party policy.
"We're working together for a lot of things that will have a real impact for New Zealanders' lives."
