When Michelle Hohepa had trouble on her street, instead of getting a high fence or a guard dog, she created a website.

When Auckland woman Michelle Hohepa had trouble on her street, instead of getting a high fence and a big dog, she went one step further. 

She got the idea to create a website when the police kept asking her what cameras were around the area that might have caught any criminals in the act.

That’s how Community Cam was born, allowing people to register their own security cameras in a secure and private way that only police have access to. 

Now three years on from its launch, Hohepa's got big ambitions about how she can help other communities and police around New Zealand.
