Gas canister explosion in Hamilton sends two people to hospital

Two people have been injured in Hamilton this morning after an incident potentially involving a gas canister led to a small explosion.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Coates Street about 4am.

The two people were transported to Waikato Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are making enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the explosion.
