Four men stabbed in Timaru following vicious gang fight

Four men were stabbed and taken to hospital following a gang fight in Timaru early this morning.

Detective Sergeant Greg Harrison said police received a call around 3.20am reporting a number of gang members fighting in the Dunkirk Street area of Marchwiel.

One person is in serious condition and two are in moderate condition, while two have since been discharged.

The fourth male arrived at the hospital shortly afterwards and is undergoing surgery.

It is believed those involved are known to each other, police said.

Police are investigating the scene today and would like to hear from anyone who has seen or heard anything.
