Four arrested as meth, $280k cash, $1 million in assets, 14 guns seized in Lower North Island police raids

Four people have been arrested and over $1 million worth of assets and a significant amount of methamphetamine have been seized in a police operation targeting the drug in Manawatu, Horowhenua and Tararua.

Police also seized $280,000 in cash, 14 firearms and other drugs during in the raids early last week, they say in a statement.

The arrests are the latest in a series of organised crime operations in Manawatu, Horowhenua and Tararua involving the Manawatu Organised Crime Unit and the Central Asset Recovery Unit.

The four arrests are in addition to a further six arrests earlier this month as part of the operations, police say.

Those arrested, aged between 30 and 66, face a range of charges including unlawful possession of firearms and the sale and supply of methamphetamine.
