The theme of Māori language week this year is 'Kia kaha Te Reo Māori' which means 'Let's make the Māori language strong'.
Seven Sharp's own fluent te reo speaker Tamati Rimene Sproat was on the case for the programme in Wairau, near Blenheim, where he had the tale of whanau spreading te reo while they serve up fish and chips from a food truck.
