Five people arrested after firearms incident near Auckland mall

Five people have been arrested after a firearm incident in South Auckland this afternoon.

Police say they received multiple reports of a man in possession of a firearm in the Ōtara Mall area about 2.25pm.

The man left in a vehicle, which was soon located by police in Fisher Cres.

According to police, five people were taken into custody and an air rifle was recovered.
