Police have confirmed that a man has died after drowning at Bream Bay, Ruakaka this morning.
A call was made to police at 7.06am after a fisherman appeared to get into difficulty while retrieving fishing nets.
The man died at the scene and another man was taken to Whangarei hospital in a moderate condition.
