A firefighter has been taken to hospital with minor burns after battling a house fire in Wainuiomata, Wellington.

Five fire trucks were called to the house on Bull Avenue and found it fully in flames when they arrived at 12.45pm.
A firefighter received minor burns and was taken to Hutt Hospital by ambulance.
Fire shift manager David Meikle said the blaze was now under control.
He said he did not yet know how or where the firefighter had been burnt, but said the injuries were minor.
It was not yet known how the fire started in the standalone house.
Mr Meikle did not know if people were inside the house at the time the fire began but said "no one needed rescuing".
