Fire at Manukau Library leaves building 'heavily smoked'

A electrical fault sparked a fire at Manukau Library in Auckland today.

Fire and Emergency told 1 NEWS the building is still “heavily smoked”. 

The blaze was located in the basement of the four-storey building and was caused by an electrical fault. 

An Auckland Council spokesperson said they were informed of the fire at the library around 12.30pm today.

Everyone has been safely evacuated.
