Family travelling from India to help look after Waikato trio hospitalised in botulism scare

Trio remain in Waikato Hospital after botulism scare.

A spokesperson for the Waikato family being treated for botulism says they're still in a stable but critical condition.

Joji Varghese, told 1 NEWS, family members will be arriving from India tonight to help care for the family's young children.

They have asked that media respect their privacy.

Shibu Kochummen, his wife Subi Babu and his mother Alekutty Daniel have been hospital since last Friday after reportedly eating wild boar.

A short time later they become ill and collapsed before making emergency calls for help.

Mr Varghese says there will be a meeting on Wednesday with medical staff from Waikato Hospital, but he says there's little change in the condition of the patients.

Medical staff started treating the family for botulism on Friday and it appeared to have some effect on the patients.
