Wellington Airport's terminal was evacuated this afternoon when a sprinkler was knocked, setting off the fire alarm.
An airport spokesman says the evacuation occurred at 1.51pm.
The airport tweeted about the incident at 2.16pm, saying the Fire Service had to deactivate the alarm.
Travellers were let back in soon afterwards.
The spokesperson says there were some minor delays but as the incident happened at an off-peak time, not many services were affected.
Fire communications say two appliances attended.
