Eleven people, including gang members and associates, have been arrested - resulting in the seizure of drugs, firearms and stolen property - following a series of gang raids across the southern district, Invercargill police announced today.
It comes after eight warrants were executed over 10 days in Queenstown, Invercargill and Gore, in an operation targeting organised criminal networks and serious offending, Invercargill CIB Acting Detective Sergeant Matt Wyatt said.
One property was searched in Queenstown, while two were searched in Gore and five were searched in Invercargill.
Those arrested included 10 men, ranging in age from 21 to 60, and one woman, 30.
The group will appear on varying days in Invercargill, Gore and Queenstown District Courts facing charges relating to firearms, Class A and B drugs and dishonesty.
Six firearms, a large amount of ammunition, methamphetamine, cannabis and synthetic drugs were seized by police, along with cash and stolen property.
It comes after members of the Comanchero Motorcycle Gang and their associates were arrested and nearly $4 million in assets were seized in six police raids across Auckland yesterday.
