Elderly woman dies in Pauanui water incident

An elderly woman has drowned in a water incident at Pauanui on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula.

Emergency services were called around 3:30pm today to an address in Vista Paku in Pauanui.

A St John spokesperson told 1NEWS they sent four vehicles to the scene but the patient had died.
