Otago seems to have enjoyed a significant boost to spending in the region on the back of Ed Sheeran's concerts there - with a little help from some classic aircrafts.
Paymark figures show an increase in electronic spending in the region between March 29 and April 3 of about $11.3 million over the same period last year.
The effect is put down to the two Ed Sheeran concerts in Dunedin, as well as the Warbirds airshow at Wanaka.
The figures also indicated that among those who benefited the most from the surge were those in the food and liquor sector and hospitality sector.
