Easter Monday: MetService issue heavy rain warnings over some of the South, mostly dry everywhere else

Dry weather is expected to hold over most of the country today, while another front brings heavy rain to the South Island.

The long Easter weekend has seen three frontal systems across the country, where many places seeing some rain or showers.

As another cold front sweeps up the South Island today, heavy rain returns to the lower West Coast.

MetService have issued heavy rain watches and warnings for some of the West Coast.

This front is forecast to weaken before moving onto the North Island tomorrow.

Auckland, Hawke's Bay, and the Bay of Plenty are expected to be fine apart from areas of morning cloud.

The remainder of the North Island is cloudy or becoming cloudy.
