Dunedin crash involving pedestrian results in death of 87-year-old man

An 87-year-old man has died after a car crashed into a pedestrian in Dunedin yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the crash on Macandrew Road at about 4.50pm.

The man later died at Dunedin Hospital, police confirmed today.

In a statement, police said their thoughts were with his family and friends at this time. 

The serious crash unit attended the scene.
