Driver charged with drink driving in fatal crash with bicycle on Auckland's Queen Street

Police have charged a man in connection with a fatal crash between a car and bicycle on Auckland's Queen Street last month.

Authorities say emergency services were called to the crash around 2.30am on May 26th, and the cyclist was transported to Auckland Hospital in a critical condition.

Geoffrey Arthur Burridge, 59, later passed away i n hospital.

Police have now charged a 30-year-old with excess breath alcohol causing death.

He is due to appear in the Auckland District Court on Wednesday.
