A plane crashed this morning at Warbirds over Wanaka, but nobody has been injured.
A Yak 3, a WW2 Soviet fighter aircraft, has crashed while taxiing along the runway after landing.
A statement from Warbirds Over Wanaka said: "The aircraft, owned by a Wanaka pilot, had touched down on the grass runway but soon afterwards a wing clipped a stationary cherry picker near the grass runway, in use for the airshow."
"The aircraft suffered damage to one wing. The pilot was not injured. A CAA representative at the airshow has cleared the aircraft to be removed. There was no one on the cherry picker."
1 NEWS was told the pilot put the aircrafts tail down and lost sight of the grass runway.
The incident happened right in front of the main grandstand full of spectators, but the pilot has walked away uninjured.
