Dozens of homeless Chinese workers seek visa change after company evicts them

Around 30 Chinese workers who have been let go by an Auckland recruitment firm are looking to see if the working conditions on their visas can be changed after facing eviction from their company-provided accommodation.

The men, who were hired by National Personnel Limited (NPL), were kicked out of the home, in Takanini, on Monday night.

NPL held on to their luggage and passports.

Yesterday, they were able to get their belongings back and were given accomodation in a nearby church.

The men are now seeking advice from Unite Union.
