Auckland train users experienced delays this morning on the Eastern Line due to a points failure at Britomart prompting a speed restriction - adding to strain on the transport networks caused by a bus driver strike.
Auckland Transport said on Twitter the points failure was resolved about 7.10am, but some congestion remained in the Britomart area afterwards.
An earlier crew-related matter also caused some delays on the Southern and Eastern lines, but those had since been resolved.
The delays coincide with a bus driver strike by Tramways and First Union members, who are pushing for the retention of overtime, among other things.
Several bus services will be cancelled throughout the week, with 20 services cancelled by AT today.
Details of the services affected by the strike are available here and AT recommends that transport network users check timetables and plan their journey ahead of time.
